Mysterious old tools or whatever.....

The items pictured below were found in the shed of an old carpenter, who has recently passed away.
They were given to me by his Daughter, along with a few of his old tools etc.

I have no idea as to what they could be. Can anybody help?

It has been suggested they may be some kind of scafolding joiners or floorboarding items.
They are made of steel and most are flat, some are however round and look as if they have been cast.
The round items have barbs on the points, this has caused even more confusion.

All items show marks of hammering to the top faces, some have split in the corners due to this hammering.
Most of them show scuff marks where they have been driven into wood to an approx depth of 1/2 inch or so.

Please contact steve@sidecar121.com if you have any idea what these things are.

Thanks for looking. Steve Smith.
